In
an effort to establish a better basis for ongoing
research, a not-for-profit foundation was formed,
namely, Caribbean American Research Foundation, Inc.
The purposes of the foundation are a) to support research
designed to provide data and new information on various
aspects of the Caribbean and the Caribbean-American
community; b) to encourage research and scholarship
by he award of grants, bursaries, scholarships or
fellowships to persons or entities engaged in research
and development studies on the Caribbean experience;
c) to foster the cultural, social, economic and educational
well-being of the Caribbean community in the United
States by supporting multi-culturalism and diversity
for the community-at-large; d) to provide a forum
for Caribbean scholars to present papers and research
projects relating to the advancement of the Caribbean-American
immigrant cultural expression, to mutual benefit of
the peoples of the United States and the people of
the Caribbean.
