To
design and conduct academic research on economic, social,
culturlal and educational issues pertaining to Caribbean
immigrants in the United States, and to publish and disseminate
research findings.
To
Undertake cross-cultural comparative studies of other ethnic
populations and to monitor and contribute to the development
of multicultural curriculum projects at both school and
tertiary levels.
To facilitate training programs for students, educators,
parents and social workers, as well as employers, trade
unions,
community organizations, service agencies and the general
public.
To
develop a source of information for community consulation
and a reference point for policy formulation regarding Caribbean
immigrants by United States Government agencies at city,
state and federal levels.
To serve
as an international crossroads for academic exchange among
researchers, writers, students, artists and intellectual
workers.
